This is a stunning Art Glass Paperweight Egg, in a Millefiori Satin Finish, made in the famous glassmaking region of Murano Venice Italy. The egg stands about 2.5 inches tall and 2 inches wide.
Millefiore is an Italian term that means a thousand flowers and these thousand flowers are made from multicolor glass canes that are melted and fused, and then joined in a highly skilled artisan glassmaking process that is particularly difficult to perfect. Murano is well known for its millefiori pieces, also sometimes called tutti frutti .
In excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks or other blemishes.
