The Dongbao No. 9 longan has medium-sized flowers and fruit clusters. The fruit is flattened round in shape, with slightly raised and flat shoulders, and a rounded top. The fruits are relatively uniform in size, with mature fruit skins being yellow-brown with a greenish tinge, prominent wart-like protrusions, and relatively smooth, tough skin. The seeds are medium-sized, flattened round, and reddish-brown.
The average fruit cluster weight is 305.3 grams, with an average individual fruit weight of 13.5 grams, reaching a maximum of 19.3 grams. The flesh is milky white to light yellow, slightly translucent, with a crisp texture, no juice leakage, easy seed separation, and melting in the mouth. It has a sweet flavor, and is of good flavor quality. The edible rate is 66.59%, and the soluble solids content can reach up to 19.2%.
