This is a U.S.A.A.F. (U.S. Army Air Force) C-3 vest manufactured in the 1940s. There is no size label, but it is about size 36.
The Talon zipper is a bar-shaped U-shaped Talon, so it is almost certain that it was manufactured in the 1940s.

【Condition】
There is a 10cm crack from the left shoulder to the back with a hand-sewn repair. There is no other notable damage or dirt, but it is a very old item manufactured about 80 years ago, so damage due to aging is possible.
Therefore, please consider it as a display item or a collection item, not for actual wear.

In the 1930s and 1940s, airplanes were completely unheated, and various measures were taken to protect the crew from the cold. Among them, the most primitive and effective method was layering.
In May 1936, two years after the adoption of the B-3, the 'C-3 Vest' was adopted for layering under the B-3, etc. The length of the pile was 1/4 inch, which was short-cropped for functionality, similar to the B-6 adopted later.
