(My purpose of crafting this map was none other than the fact that this projection looks cool.)

- Continents hand-cut from hammered aluminum metal, nailed to a sturdy wooden board.
- Hung via a sturdy leather cord.

I've always been a map fanatic, especially historic ones.
This map resembles the Lambert Conformal Conic Projection, which is used for aeronautical charts. It was developed by Johann Heinrich Lambert in 1772, who projected the world as though it were a cone unrolled.
This map also resembles the Azimuthal Equidistant Projection, which was useful for point-to-point telephone communication systems because all points on the map are at proportionally correct distances from the center point, which allows telephone operators to easily determine in which direction to point their directional antenna.
