This hat consists of an oval crown indented at the top, and surrounded by a brown grosgrain band and a short upturned brim edged in coordinating brown grosgrain edging plus a narrow band of the same grosgrain in the middle of the brim. The look is completed by a unique intact veil, plus a brown/off-white feather puff and several guinea hen feathers of the same coloring. Stunning!The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war and on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials. Explosions of feathers, veiling and artificial flowers were popular. LABEL: MARLENE - P. C.
