CHIC 1940's BROWN TILT HAT WITH FUCHSIA VELVET FLOWERS & MATCHING VEIL

This beautiful brown straw hat consists of aflat crown surrounded by a brown grosgrain band that ends in a folded V shape at the back, and trimmed with small fuchsia colored velvety flowers. The scalloped edge brim is folded into a V shape at the back. The brim is covered in a matching brown veil. There is a grosgrain band attached to the inside of the hat, held together by an elastic circle to hold the hat in a tilted position. This elastic circle can be made smaller.Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, or a combination of these. There is no designer label, but there is a label stating: Consumer's protection label LARGE* -Mfd. under fair labor standards. *NOTE: The elastic circle can be adjusted to fit different sizes, plus the hat is not meant to fit snugly, but in a tilted position towards the front of the head.This hat is in wonderful vintage condition and has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years.
