This is an amazing black felt fedora from the 40s' created in a "riding" hat style. It consists of a rounded crown and a short, upturned brim. The crown is covered in a black dotted veil, which ties at the back center and creates 2 streamers. The crown is surrounded by a black grosgrain band, tied in a bow at the center back. At the front, there is a beautiful yellow crin spray, plus a large hatpin with a black felt head. Stunning!Crin, also known as crinoline or horsehair, is a net-like material, easy to mold and is often used in the decoration of clothing, hats and accessories. There is no designer label,, but an imprint inside: GLENOVER , HENRY POLLAKThis is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Feathers, straw, flowers & veils are fragile, given their age.
