STUNNING 1940s BROWN FELT TOQUE WITH FEATHER BIRD TRIM

This is a most unique 1940s' brown felt round toque (a small cap or bonnet having a narrow brim or no brim) which is trimmed with an imposing rust and iridescent black/greenish feather 'bird' in a near-perfect condition...astounding due to its age. The top of the hat is indented, making it a more interesting creation. The hat has an attached elastic so as to keep it in place.The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war and on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials. Explosions of feathers, veiling and artificial flowers were popular. No label, meaning that hit was a custom-made hat. There is a size label: Medium.
