This is an outstanding tilt hat from the fashionable 1930s'! It bis made of fine black fabric which has been topstitched all over and draped and stitched into a unique shape, taller at the top front. There is a grosgrain band at the back to hold the hat in a tilted position. At the back there is a large bow made from wide grosgrain, with long streamers to go over the hair. It is simply stunning!Women’s 1930s hats were small and simple in decoration, yet their shaping was a work of art. Folded, molded, and angled felt made hats look like something out of a Picasso painting. Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s.
