O118. Original Oil on Canvas Native American / Navajo / Southwestern Pottery Still Life Painting Signed “Olio”. Now I’ve seen this artist referred to as Native American, Navajo, and southwestern. Please forgive me if I am incorrect in any of these terms. He, or she, is elusive. I can’t find much information. There are a few pieces on the market. The most recent I’ve seen, and easiest to share, happens to be on eBay right now. (THAT ONE is larger, at 22 inches.) This piece is approximately 8x10. It is canvas, with a modern wooden canvas support. Has a hanger on the back. It is “unframed”, meaning your typical outer surrounding frame, however I would hang it exactly as is. Painting depicts pottery, wheat pieces and a beautiful southwestern Concho belt.I’ve also seen these paintings, and many like it, referred to as sand oil paintings. Not sure why.We’ve had this for about 15 years now.There are some paint chips, also minor edge wear including some of paint chips, divots and scratches here and there. You can see the wood support underneath, as if this LIGHTLY leaned against something. Can use a light cleaning. Dusty. We are very detailed in description so you have zero surprises… personally, I’d hang this exactly as is! Nothing major.
