This listing is for a vintage, beautifully hand painted, wood lacquerware plate, made in the Ukraine. It is painted in the Petrykivka style. According to UNESCO.org, it is believed that this type of painting protects people from sorrow and evil, and that every family has at least one person who produces these types of painted lacquerware objects.There is one lacquer drip on this plate, which personally I believe adds to its character and uniqueness. It is unsigned, except for the yellow 34. Includes a loop for hanging as shown in the photos. I am also listing a box painted in the same style.
