No. 4 Universal bread maker. Universal is a brand name that was widely used by Landers, Frary & Clark of New Britain, Connecticut. This company designed and distributed several kitchen appliances, tools and gadgets. By the time, this bread maker was manufactured, it had received 9 Patents between Dec. 11, 1900 and Christmas Day 1906. This company's bread maker was awarded a gold medal at the St. Louis Exposition in 1904. On the lid, are instructions on how it should be used.
