This vintage Japanese Satsuma vase is a type of earthenware pottery that originated in the Satsuma province of southern Kyushu, Japan.Satsuma dates to the 17th century, with early examples featuring dark clay and glazes. Over time, designs evolved to include intricate, colorful, and gilded decorations, often depicting flowers, birds, and figures in traditional Japanese clothing.
