Antique purse. A lovely steel multi-colored crochet. Most likely silk or a blend as was used at that time period. Repousse pewter metal rings. Gorgeous steel cut beading all over. Some of the beading represents spiders with the 8 legs. Lovely hues of navy blue to smoky blue to khaki to burgundy red to khaki again and gray. Amazing fringe hem. Along the top center is open for you to place your belongings inside. Most likely made in France or England, where these originated from. Measures 42 inches long not including the fringe Fringe measures 2 inchesAmazing condition. Very few issues. There is some fade on the lighter part of the blue. Very subtle. Original patina on the pewter rings. The beading is steel which is an iron mix and explains that some of the beading is rusted. It looks like the silver finish has worn off. See photos. The fringe is intact and in great condition. Overall this is stunning and should be a museum piece. The colors are so unique and the spider motif beading really are special.
