Antique crescent moon pendant set with seed pearls. This stunning 9 carat yellow gold crescent moon is set with 23 luminous seed pearls which are graduated in size. The pearls vary in colour with white, grey, silver and pink hues. At the ends of row of seed pearls are beaded gold dots, adorning the moon right to the very point. The inner edge of the moon is smooth while the outer edge features a geometric pointed shape. Circa 1880s,

Crescent moons in British Victorian jewellery symbolise change and new beginnings, such as marriage. This moon is in great condition and we love the variation in the pearl colour which makes it a bit unique and different!
Seed pearls: 23, mostly white in colour with various hues such as silvery, grey, off white and pinkish, and measure between approx 0.9 mm and 2.9 mm.
Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold through.
Measures approx 28 mm / 1.1 inches tall not including the bail by 26.7 mm / 1.05 inches wide as it hangs.
