Here is a spectacular Imperial Period (c. 2nd to 4th century A.D.) Roman mold-formed terracotta oil lamp coated in a pale-green resin/wax.
The lamp is defined by a circular base, gradually-expanding walls within the tondo, leading to a single fill hole offset to the left of Nike. The Goddess stands atop a globe, her right arm holding a victory laurel and her left carrying a coiling staff. Volutes flank the sides of an angular nozzle & wick spout.
DIMENSIONS: 1 H x 3 W x 4 L
