Commemorative badge of Salaspils Concentration camp - SALASPILS. Pin of Sculpture Humiliated , Weeping Woman. Latvian SSR. Bronze Metal. Pin fastening. A concentration camp established during the Second World War (1939–1945) on the territory of Latvia occupied by Nazi Germany. The camp gained fame due to the detention of child prisoners there, who were then used to collect blood for wounded German soldiers, as a result of which the children quickly died.
