TIP OF THE DAY WHEN BUYING JEWELRY ONLINEBe mindful that the sad truth is that many sellers use filters and/or devices to magnify/enhance their items during live shows to:(A) Make the item appear more shiny/brilliant/reflective/etc.and the most common reason is:(B) to make the item appear larger onscreen than it is in real life. You can protect yourself and your money by doing 1 or more of the following:1.Asking for the seller to provide a common object for size comparison (quarter or other common coin is the easiest for jewelry);2.Asking for the measurements. 3.Ask if seller has acid tested every sterling piece (it’s their job to do their due diligence if stating it is sterling gold etc.)4.Ask how gold is tested and be prepared to test it as well once received. 5.Confirm whether jewelry items are solid plated filled or electroplated. Confirm entire earring is sterling and not just post as this is a common scam. 6.If sterling is not acid tested make sure you acid test as soon as you receive it so you can return if necessary. 7.Take screenshots of all items next to the comparison object before bidding on so you can compare it to the item you receive if you win.
