Antique, Jet Black Glass and Black Lacquered Metal, Floral Themed, Mourning Brooch.
This mourning/sentiment brooch dates from the Early 1900s, Art Nouveau, or Edwardian Era, as these fashion eras overlap.
Measuring 1 3/4 x 2 x 1/2 deep, with a period correct T-Hinge and C-Clasp Closure.
The base is composed of black lacquered metal with separate flower pedals and center-raised floral stamens.
Hundreds of faceted, tiny, Black French Jet Rhinestones, are individually, hand-set into each petal and stamen end.
This stone arrangement allows a subtle glint with every movement. It is hard to capture the depth and dimension of this fabulous piece in my photos. Much better in person.
