What a stunning look! This tilt hat from the 1940's consists of a round structure covered in multicolored feathers in shades of gold, yellow, olive green and brown. To keep the hat in place there is a brown grosgrain strap attached to the inside of the hat from the middle back, ending in a bow. There is anelastic band that connects the strap to the hat, securing the hat in place.Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, an extended cap, or a combination of these. 30s Fashion certainly seemed fussier than the 1920s with its relentless ornaments of bows, trims and frills.Label: GERBER HATSThis is an authentic piece of fashion history!
