This is a stunning taupe straw fedora from the 1930s'.The crown is rounded and has a peak at the top. The medium brim is upturned at one side, and turned down at the other side to cover one eye. The crown comes to a point at the top. Around the crown there is a coordinating color grosgrain band, plus magnificent "feathers" made of the same grosgrain. To complete the look there is a matching veil.Women’s 1930s hats were small and simple in decoration, yet their shaping was a work of art. Folded, molded, and angled felt made hats look like something out of a Picasso painting.Women’s hats in the 1930s covered the hair and were used to mysteriously cover one eye or the forehead. Label: Size 22There is no brand or designer label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Feathers, straw, flowers & veils are fragile, given their age. Mannequin not for sale.
