What a stunner!!! This hat from the 1930s' is made of a very fine velour felt. The flat top is adorned by 3 different colored ostrich feathers: fuchsia, pink and grey. There is a cap at the back under the flat top, which holds this tilt hat in place. This cap has two openings at each side, as shown in the photos, to add more drama to this visually stunning hat. To finish the look, there is a large black veil, which ends in two streamers at the back.Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, or a combination of these. Store Label: CARSON, PIRIE SCOTT & CO. - Chicago There is no designer label, indicating it must have been a custom creation. This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Feathers, straw, flowers & veils are fragile, given their age.
