Extra gemmy, fully natural specimen of hyalite opal on a geode mineral matrix form Zacatecas, Mexico.
The lustrous, raw botryoidal crystals of glassy clear hyalite opal are in a mineralized agate quartz matrix accented with small, terminated quartz crystal points. The open geode form of the matrix provides great contrast to the glassy clusters in rounded globules of hyalite opal. Part of a 2018 find the crystals show rainbow iridescent soaked in the light. The gemstone crystals of hyalite opal are UV fluorescent and glow bright neon green. An aesthetic display piece with beautiful structure that shows well in multiple directions. A perfect large thumbnail sized Mexican specimen that measures approx 4 by 3 by 3cm.
