Vintage 1940's Nelson McCoy Pottery Lion Planter Vintagematte yellow Deco style figural lion planter. The Hanson, Nissen, Hanson book of McCoy Pottery includes this planter as one of the top 100 finds of McCoy pottery. The bottom is flat and dry (unglazed). He measures approx. 8½" long and 4¾" tall. There are a couple of teeny glaze pops, a glaze skip common to McCoy pottery. There is also crazing. There is one 1” crack on side and a chip on the front foot (see picture).The mold definition is good on this hard to find McCoy Pottery Deco Lion Planter.
