**Vinyl is mostly VG+ as B1 has slightly audible scratches. 'Abraxas' is the second studio album by American Latin rock band Santana. It was released in September of 1970 by Columbia Records. The album cover features the 1961 painting "Annunciation" by German-French painter Mati Klarwein. According to the artist, it was one of the first paintings he did after relocating to New York City. Carlos Santana reportedly noticed it in a magazine and asked that it be on the cover of the band's upcoming album. It is now considered a classic of rock album covers. Klarwein went on to design album artwork for many notable artists, including Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Gregg Allman. The album reached the Top-10 in several markets and became the band's first #1 on the Billboard 200 in the US.The lead single 'Black Magic Woman' peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 with the follow-up single 'Oye Cómo Va' reaching #13.The album has made it into several editions of Rolling Stone magazines' "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" and was ultimately certified 5× Platinum by the RIAA in the US.
