Here we have two beautiful limited-edition Meissen Germany plates, dishes with gilt trim. Two of a series of plates from Meissen depicting classic fairy tales.
Meissen 1984 Rumpelstiltskin
The pictures do not do these charming plates justice, with its gilt detail in the foliage, sword, owl's eyes, fire, a butterfly, and other places.
Rumpelstilzchen, or Rumpelstiltskin. The back has the trademark Meissen crossed swords and also some incised numbers, a short blue line, and the date 1984. There is a hook on the back so you can hang the plate as a decoration if you wish.
Meissen 1985 Pinocchios Abenteuer (Adventurer)
A whimsical depiction of the story of Pinocchio on this cobalt blue Meissen porcelain 10 plate. The wooden puppet is shown facing the evil Coachman, whose coat, sleeves hat and earring are highlighted with gold, as is the border of the plate.
