This is a first generation, not hooked up to Wi-Fi, it is remote. Brand new and in the box. I did open the box to make sure everything was there.The Rain Bird ESP-SI controller will still function with basic irrigation equipment like standard 24VAC valves, pump start relays, and rain sensors, as it was designed for those components5. However, it is not compatible with modern smart features such as WiFi control or app-based programming, which require newer controllers like the ESP-TM2 or ESP-ME3 paired with a Rain Bird LNK WiFi module 1 23 .If you plan to add advancedaccessories or smart home integration, you will need to upgrade to a newer model. For standard irrigation system operation, the ESP-SI should remain functional as long as the components are compatible with traditional wiring and voltage
