Striking pair of antique Nippon Moriage Candlesticks made in Japan and hand painted there. Strong design combines a floral motif with geometric patterning. One candlestick has slight wear: no cracks, chips, or repair work. The other has a chip at the base that primarily affects the bottom of the piece. A crack (which I believe has been repaired) travels from the chip across the base’s bottom. This second candlestick also shows more wear than the first. The reduced price takes these flaws into account. (Still, I wouldn’t hesitate to display these two together. The impact remains.)
Each measures 8 1/4” tall. The base is 4 3/4” across. The Nippon mark is shown clearly on the bottom of each.
