This beautiful ship in a bottle is in excellent condition without any chips, cracks, scratches, damage or signs of repair. It features the sailing ship, The Mercury US Revenue Cutter. It was built in Ocracoke, North Carolina and commissioned in 1807. The Revenue Cutter ships were built to patrol the shores of the Eastern United States (the forerunner of the US Coast Guard). In 1813 The Mercury was involved in an incident with British ships when it outran them off the shores of North Carolina. The Mercury was featured in the Dreamwork
