Very clean, inside Movement and Case, 1924 Elgin Open Face Pocket Watch, 12 Size (43mm diameter case) and considered “Art Deco” style, mostly from the stylish Arabic numerals and flourish style crown. Rare Keystone Silveroid Base Metal Material, and even more rare original Silvered Dial with Lance Blued Steel Hands. 7 Jewel Movement, 3/4 plate, Balance Jewel is Ruby. Recent servicing. Runs one minute slow in a 12 hour period. Movement serial # 27635370. Caseback, which is a hand screw on screw off type (don’t use any tool) is serial # 324038. You can see all the watchmaker initials to see how well serviced this watch has been over the past 98 years. Manual winding; don’t overwind, you could break the hairspring which our watchmaker says was made by Breguet of Switzerland for Elgin, Elgin being the biggest and most important American watchmaker in the 1920’s.Dial has slight age patina, but it gives character. Bezel has unique 3 rows of guilloche ornamentation, Art Deco Roaring 20’s.
