A lovely vintage pestle and mortar, found at a Porto, Portugal market.Piece is solid silver metal (unsure of exactly what metal, not marked). It's heavy weight makes it a very reassuring tool to use, perfect for grinding herbs in the kitchen or resins for ritual use.The raised faces and textured exterior make it extra unique and beautiful - even for simple display. A great gift for a chef, a wiccan or even a pharmacist. Green felt on bottom to protect your surfaces. Approximate size: 1 3/4" tall by 2 1/4" wide at mouth; pestle measures 2 3/4" long In great vintage condition. Probably another century of use in it.
