Price drop!Mid-century (1950s)Nittsjö hand-made ceramic vase designed by Thomas Hellström, features a coarse matte finish with added grog for texture, chocolate brown color, white glossy top and smooth white inside, stamped on the bottom "Nittsjö 5064", made in Sweden.Thomas Hellström (1924–2006) was one of Sweden’s leading ceramic artists in the 20th century. He was part of the Nordic tradition aiming for warm-hearted, humorous, and sometimes subtly ironic design. After his art studies at "Konstfack" in Stockholm, Thomas worked for the Nittsjö factory for almost 50 years. He became a prominent designer of animal figurines with rounded shapes and kind expressions. Thomas artistry is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.In very good vintage condition.
