I purchased this online from an antique store in Denmark. At the time they stated it was German, and the 835 Is standard European grade sterling. 2 3/4” wide and it has a beautiful design on the front and a crown screw on lid. The lid is not sterling, just the flask is sterling.
The 835 silver mark on an item indicates that it is made of an alloy containing 83.5% pure silver. This standard was commonly used in Germany, Austria, and Belgium, and is still used in some European countries like the Netherlands and Portugal.
