Red Wing is very well known for its crocks and mixing bowls. These bowls were made by Red Wing in the 1920s. This is the ORIGINAL spongeware bowl that Red Wing came out with with the blue and burnt orange sponge pattern.. You can tell this by the bottom. The 1st produced spongeware bowls did NOT have any writing or stamp on their bottoms. Red Wing reproduced the spongeware bowl in the 1960s and 19070s and added a blue or red stamp reading Red Wing Oven Ware.
