Belt is artisanal craftsmanship, featuring genuine *hitched* horsehair in an intricate design in blue and turquoise on grey and black. The belt is currently 40 in but can be adjusted. The handcrafted horsehair section is 27 long, 1.5 in wide, and nearly .5 in thick. The horsehair section is woven onto leather “belt ends,” those can be replaced & re-woven onto the horsehair for a longer belt. This is a very large horsehair section and is in excellent condition. This belt is extremely durable and well made. We do not know who made this piece, it was purchased locally in the 90s.The buckle “Fairview Old Times Festival 1984” is #125/250, limited edition bronze cast, by Montana artist David Torrence, as a fundraiser for the Lions Club. Torrence is collected at the MonDak Heritage Center & was a protogée of Ben Steele. The buckle can be removed & is attached by screws in the usual way. Also included for free is the Nohly Bridge preservation fundraising t-shirt designed by Torrence (see photos). It is a men’s S/M, heather green with retro green trimmed sleeves. Nohley is spelled two different ways on the merch, which is very much typical of the times in this remote corner of Montana & North Dakota.Phenomenal items for Western collectors, fans of Americana aesthetic, and anyone who loves the windswept scrub prairie, huge skies, open road, & places almost no one has ever seen…
