Fantastic rare vintage late 1940’s / early 1950’s sheer star print shirt waist dress. The fabric is a synthetic sheer black fabric, that is very strong and thick. The stars are printed/painted on the fabric (some stars have cracks, but they will not come off). Overall, it is not delicate, but the stars may leave little residue if scratched or washed excessively (I have washed the dress already, and never worn it out). But the stars are still on there strongly, and the dress has lots of life left. Please see photo of closeup of the fabric that shows the stars and their overall condition. The dress opens in the front by crystal buttons. The dress has exaggerated double layer collar and pocket folds. It is a big dress, which will fit most people. It is intended to be worn cinched with a belt (like I have worn, belt is not included). In the photos of me wearing it, I also have a black slip underneath.
