A Marcasite included Calcite point from the Linwood Mine, Buffalo, Iowa. Beautiful Phantom of sparkling Marcasite in a clear fully terminated Calcite crystal. Never has there been such pristine Marcasite phantoms in Calcite as there are is in these Linwood Mine specimens. This one is gorgeous. The Calcite is highly transparent with a high luster on one side and a frosted surface on the other side. This adds to the aesthetics by creating better light refraction within the Calcite crystal. The Marcasite Phantom has an attractive metallic sparkle to it that is pleasing to the eyes. An excellent specimen overall.
