This is a nice and unique looking carpet vase that my husband's family sent me many years ago as a gift from Persia and it is quite lovely.

The vase is pottery/clay covered with Persian Kilim and Jajim with designs being Persian rugs and hemp trim, hand knotted rug pieces glued on it.

Parts of rug are embossed.

One of a kind for décor only, not to store food or liquid.

This carpet vase measures approximately 11.5 tall, 3.75 across and 13.5 around at it's widest point.

The history of Persian pottery goes back to early Neolithic Age (7th millennium BCE) When agriculture came into existence and cultivation started on Iran’s plateau by me primitive races of this land, people made utensils of killed clay in order to meet their needs. During the past hundred years, many valuable remnants earthenware from different civilizations have been found in the archaeological excavations.
