These are two beautiful pieces that are examples of Scottish Art Nouveau design! They seem to be rather rare.
Taken from a design by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, famed leader of the Glasgow Four, we have a stylized fork and spoon in the Muthesius pattern. Sturdy and shiny silver-plate executed in Italy by silversmith Lino Sabattini. Both pieces are fully signed (licensed) and dated 1993.
The fork measures 6 5/8 inches long, the spoon measures 6 3/8 inches long. Total weight for both pieces is 58 grams.
These were never used as dining utensils and are in excellent condition. I just did a quick polish with silver cream (not mechanically buffed). No presentation box. My home is smoke free.
