Reticulated oval sterling Cupid basket, early 20th century by Theodore B. Starr with swing handle. Sides and central medallion consist of a series of panels depicting Cupid with raised bow & arrow amongst grape vines. Marked inside handle ‘sterling 2273’
This ornately designed basket has grapes, vine leaves and cupids decorated all around the outer edge, a trellis pierced base and a central cupid panel. The basket is oval in shape with a swing handle and sits on four ball feet.
This basket not only looks wonderful on display but would make a nice collectable piece for a silver collector. It could be used as a cake basket or decorative tray for buffets or a number of other decorative ideas.
