The mill's two main elements are reminiscent of traditional lathed objects such as doorknobs or finials, but the stacking and flaring of these shapes creates a curvaceous form that's unmistakingly grounded in modernism. The top section, as with most of Quistgaard's mills, holds salt, where the large button-like stopper is secured by a cork. Peppercorns are stored and grinded in the lower half.
