Created from slip & applied around the body of the cup, the eye-catching dragon is hand-painted in a gorgeous matt blue,back, & gray w metallic gold accents. Eyes are light blue. Small in size & made for traditional japanese teaPerhaps the most striking detail on this set is when held up to the light, the tea cup features a Lithophane full nude Japanese woman with traditional hair. From the research I’ve done, most of these have just a face in the bottom. The full body nude geishas seem to be much rarer. Based On TheCondition And There Is A Full Nude Geisha Inside Makes This Set Very Rare. Only Thing I See Which Is Normal For These Sets Are Some Flecks Of Paint Inside & Bottom Of Cup & On Bottom Of Saucer. Also Some Wear On The Gold Trim. There Are No Chips, Cracks Or Crazing.
