This figurine is 4 tall x 4” wide and the trademark (6 Missing Bee) places the manufacture of this piece Circa 1979-1989. This rather special edition figurine has no chips, mars, repairs, or crazing. It is in perfect MINT shape and created by master sculptor Gerhard Skrobek in 1967 from sketches by Sister Maria. It was one of the figurines produced only for members of the Goebel Collectors Club (now M.I. Hummel Club).
Sister Maria had a love of children and sketched them in various situations. This young boy is dressed in his lederhosen, sitting next to a LARGE coffee cup! It carries on the bottom a blue inscription saying, “EXCLUSIVE SPECIAL EDITION #8 FOR MEMBERS OF THE GOEBEL COLLECTORS CLUB”.
This is an extremely colorful and detailed porcelain figurine made by the fabulous craftsmen at the Goebel factory! There is such beautiful detail in this hand painted figure - so typical of Goebel.
