LE SEED STITCH

SEED STITCH refers to a pique knit fabric.
LE has created a new pique polo shirt.

The great thing about polo shirts is that they can be worn alone in summer, they're not as casual as T-shirts, and they can be treated more roughly than shirts. The collar adds a sense of neatness, making them incredibly convenient for everyday adult wear.

There are two masterpieces that come to mind when you think of polo shirts. One is a traditional British knit polo shirt with a sense of elegance. The other is a pique polo shirt from a French sportswear brand.

LE's polo shirt reproduces the elegant collar construction of the former, while replacing the body with a pique material like the latter, considering everyday wear.

Many pique polo shirts have collars where the ribbing is attached along the curve of the neck. These often don't have a clean collar shape, and I felt they tended to warp and lose their shape after washing. By using a separately knitted collar, like a knit polo shirt, we've solved this problem. Above all, the collar shape, reminiscent of a certain British knit polo shirt, is elegant and beautiful.

On the other hand, for Japan's hot summers, a pique knit material is suitable due to its easy care and refreshing feel. Originally made as sportswear, pique polo shirts are made of a loosely woven, mesh-like fabric that allows for good ventilation and coolness.

The silhouette is designed with a slightly loose body width and a neat length, considering the balance when worn alone.

We've finally completed a pique polo shirt that seems like it should have existed but surprisingly didn't.
