This is a wonderful figurine 10 inches tall by famous Italian sculpture. Amilcare Santini. He was born in 1910 in Florence, Italy. He attended the university in Florence, where he was instrumental in developing the process of combining marble alabaster and resin. This material is then poured into molds made by Santini, after it hardened, setting at room temperature. The figure is taking out and completely finished by hand in the very old artistic Italian tradition and style of the Great Masters of marble handed down through the ages. He passed away in 1975. This piece was made prior to 1975, unsure the date. This is the sculpture of Archimedes. The most famous mathematician and inventor in ancient Greek. He is especially important for his discovery of the relations between the surface and volume of a sphere and its circumscribing cylinder. He is known for his formulation of a hydrostatic principle known as Archimedes principle. And a device for raising water still used known as the Arc
