It has no chips, crazing, repairs, or marks, he is in Pristine MINT condition and ready to strike up the band! The TMK (3 Stylized Bee) shows it was produced Circa 1959-1969). He is 5.25 inches high and ready to work (not the smaller version). “Band Leader” was created late 1939 and originally modeled by master sculptor Arthur Moeller; this figurine was originally referred to as “Leader”.
Sister Maria had a love of children, and a whimsical nature, sketching them in various situations. This young conductor is standing tall with his hands up ready to start the concert and his coat tails flying!! The lectern even has the music printed on it!! This is the larger version of Band Leader and the artwork and craftmanship is truly amazing.
