From the 1940s, these lovely sapphire glass earrings are a very old design in sterling silver. They are not signed but they were probably made by Ballou or some other top US designer.

The cobalt glass oval mold faceted cabs have regal color saturation w/ intense fire & opacity. This old blue glass has intense color due to the high cobalt content, like old cobalt glass apothecary bottles.

The earrings are an open flower design embellished w/ clear RS chatons. All of the rhinestones are sparkling clear and all stones and glass cabs are prong set. The glass stones are open back, allowing light to increase the sparkle dramatically.

Med in size at 1 1/8 wide. The glass cabs are 11 mm long.

The screw back earrings are signed Sterling, in nice clean condition & excellent overall. There is one minor mold imperfection to one of the blue glass cabs : in the center of one cab is a slight depression barely noticeable to the naked eye. The sterling is clean & bright w/ light wear.
