This is an extremely rare and sought after 17 high 17 jewel 30mm watch from the 1940s and WWII . This watch was specifically made for the Women Airforce Service Pilots.
The watch is running strong and in great vintage shape.

The Women’s Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) was formed in 1943 active until 1944. Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) (also Women's Army Service Pilots or Women's Auxiliary Service Pilots was a civilian women pilots' organization, whose members were United States federal civil service employees. Members of WASP became trained pilots who tested aircraft, ferried aircraft, and trained other pilots.

During that period they flew over 60 million miles ferrying aircraft and personnel, towing targets and other transport duties. They flew every military aircraft including Boeing B-17 and Boeing B-19 bombers. When they were disbanded it was without any recognition, pay or veteran status. It wasn’t until 1977 that they finally got the recognition and vet status.
